Edit notification
Use this guide to update an existing notification. Editing shares the same fields as creation, with one exception: the project cannot be changed after creation.
Project is fixed
You cannot move a notification to a different project after it is created. If needed, create a new notification in the target project.
Step‑by‑step
- Open your Notification Page and select the notification you want to edit.
- To edit the picture, click Edit pic on the right of the row, or open the notification and click Edit pic in the top-right corner.
- Update any of the editable fields (see Field reference).
- Click Save Draft to keep it as a draft, or Publish to make it active according to its schedule.
Field reference
| Field | Required | What it does | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Project | – | Target project the notification belongs to | You could change project at Notification Page |
| Media | Optional | Image shown with the notification (when preset supports media) | PNG/JPG/WebP. Files cannot be larger than 5 MB. |
| Title | Yes | Internal name used in console | Not user‑visible; keep it short and understandable. |
| Action Type | Optional | What happens on user interaction | - No Action – informational. - Link – must provide a URL and select whether it opens on the same page or a new tab. - Close – works like No Action, but can be useful in some cases. |
| Display Preset | Yes | Controls size, placement, and styling | Examples: default, workspace‑specific custom presets. More information at Project Preset |
| Start Date | Yes | Start of the delivery window | Set in your local time; delivery uses server time. |
| End Date | Yes | End of the delivery window | Must be after Start Date. Delivery stops automatically. |
| Message | Yes | The text shown to users | Be concise; some presets truncate long text. |
Time zone
The schedule uses your local time on input. For example, 15:00–17:00 will appear for all users during that local window.
Save and publish
Draft vs Publish
- Save Draft updates the notification but keeps it unpublished if it is currently a Draft.
- Publish activates delivery per the Start/End dates. If Start is in the future, it will go live at that time.
Validation
Required fields
Title, Message, Start Date, and End Date must be provided. End Date must be after Start Date.
Unsupported image types or files larger than 5 MB are rejected.
Tips
Safe edits
- When making significant changes, keep the notification in Draft until reviewed, then Publish.
- Prefer small, clear messages and verify that the chosen preset renders well with or without media.
